Village children had a gala celebration on the Republic Day. A team of 95 members, volunteers and guests traveled from Thane to Belavali Village, Shahpur Taluka, Thane District on 26th Jan. Nine young girls dressed in traditional Maharashtrian attire, welcomed all the guests with a Tilak and Aarti. Immediately on arrival, without much fanfare, the team got down to work with all the 100+children from 6 years to 18 years. Games like web of life, hand painting, quiz session were conducted by Mrs Rama Chandrasekhar, Mrs Shreelata Menon, Mr J C Agrawal, Mrs Manju Agrawal. The Serco Global team comprising of nearly 45 members also conducted various activities. A sumptuous lunch prepared by the villagers themselves was thoroughly enjoyed by the children and the team. The program ended with fantastic performances by the young  children.

A large quantity of Clothes (new and used), Toys, Footwear, Stationary, Grains, Cooking oil, Sugar, Poha collected by the team members was shared with the children. The material was distributed not only in the school at Belavali but other schools in 3 kilometre area. We are thankful to Mr Dhiraj Dongare Headmaster, ZP School, Belavali for facilitating this event.
