Keeping with its tradition of reaching out to underprivileged kids in a unique manner, Udaan Welfare Foundation – Thane, organized a full day event for over 130 students on 15th March, 2014 at Sanj Sneh, Brahmand Phase II, Thane. The program titled “Mere Khawab Meri Zindagi” had two Thane based schools participating in the event viz. Shri Harkrishan English School and Shree Ram Vidya Mandir. The event focused on providing value based education to the kids through various activities focusing on building self-confidence and motivation.
The occasion was graced by the presence of two dignitaries – Mr.Chandramouli Venkatesan, Executive Director at Cadbury India Ltd. and Mr. Rajiv Nabar, Director, Income Tax (Exemptions), Mumbai. Mr. Venkatesan & Mr. Nabar also shared their words of wisdom with the kids who thoroughly acknowledged the same.
The children then had an opportunity to participate in a session on “Medha Sanskar – a memory enhancement session conducted by Dr. Roopali Deshpande. She captivated the audience through her profound knowledge on the subject. The children were excited to learn from her and responded with great energy and enthusiasm. The program continued further with an insightful and engaging workshop on “Attitude & Motivation” delivered by Mr.Ramnath Dixit. He explained ways and techniques to children to build positivity and generate self-confidence to accomplish lasting success and fulfillment in life.
The action continued with the Quiz Show with Mr. Jagdish Agarwal as the quiz-master, where the sheer knowledge displayed by the students surprised one and all. Once the afternoon heat started taking over, the best way to beat the heat was to enjoy some refreshing lemonade.
The program saw some brilliant individual and group performances from the kids in the last section of the event. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Anil K Luniya, the Founder President, and the national anthem sung by Kenyans. The day ended on an optimistic note with all the children taking back with them new hopes, new dreams and a renewed passion. The teachers were all praise for the successful conduct of the program by all the Udaan members. The success of the event was due to the excellent leadership by Mr Satwinder S Rainu, an active Udaan member.
The children were served power-packed morning breakfast, lunch and evening snacks and thoroughly entertained their taste buds. All the attendees relished the meals which ended with some mouth-watering ice-cream.
